If you work on a range of applications, your test and measurement needs will vary, and this often leads to a trade-off between vertical resolution and sampling rate.
Increasingly, our customers are overcoming this trade-off by choosing the PicoScope 5000 Series.
High-resolution ADCs interleaved in different combinations allow you to switch instantly from 8-bit resolution at 1 GS/s to 16 bits at 62.5 MS/s, or a number of options in between. If you still need more detail, resolution enhancement in PicoScope 6 can increase that to 20 bits.
This month Pico's Carl Bradbury shows how the PicoScope 5000 Series picks up the fine detail that other scopes miss.
Its wide dynamic range also makes it ideal for spectrum analysis of low-level signals and noise sources.
This month sees the second in our series of application notes on the PicoScope 4444 high-resolution differential oscilloscope. We look at how to debug a DC/DC converter of the kind typically used to deliver power in Internet of Things applications. The differential inputs of the PicoScope 4444 allow us to measure across a floating inductor without shorting it to ground.
One of the new features in the most recent PicoScope 6 software release (6.12.7) is the addition of CAN FD serial decoding.
Introduced by Bosch in 2012, CAN FD allows for increased data lengths and provides the option of switching to a faster data rate after the arbitration phase.
Programming examples for use with the PicoSDK software development kit are now available on our GitHub page. These examples cover C, C#, National Instruments LabVIEW, Python, Mathworks MATLAB, Microsoft Excel Visual Basic for Applications and Visual Basic .NET.
