The PicoScope 2000B Series was selected by a panel of experts for a place in the Test and Measurement Systems and Boards category.
PicoScope 2000 Series oscilloscopes deliver the functionality of six instruments – oscilloscope, logic analyzer (on MSO models), spectrum analyzer, function generator, arbitrary waveform generator, and serial bus analyzer – in a pocket-sized enclosure. Prices are around half those of traditional benchtop oscilloscopes with comparable performance.
Dr Francesco Fornetti, Teaching Fellow in the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, University of Bristol, has kindly allowed us to share these two teaching videos. The first one is a basic introduction to PicoScope software and hardware.
PicoScope is ideal for creating videos like this, as you can record the oscilloscope display using any screen-capture application for Windows. If you're a teacher, maybe you could create something similar for your students.
Here is the second instructional video from the University of Bristol. It shows you how to use PicoScope to test an inverting amplifier.
Q. Do PicoScopes sample simultaneously on all channels or is there a skew?
A. All current PicoScopes except the PicoScope 3425 and 4424 (in some modes) sample simultaneously. This means that there is no measurable delay between channels.
Q. I can change the vertical scale for channel A and B on the left upper corner, but how do I change the vertical scale in a math channel?
A. You can scale the math channel using the Tools > Math channels menu command. Click to Edit the math channel, then click Next until you get to the "range and units" page of the wizard. Check Override automatic range selection and then enter upper and lower limits for the range.
