Automotive News (New Products and Application Notes)

Our new MI074 secondary ignition pickup makes it easy and safe to view HT signals and waveforms. This capacitive type pickup attenuates the signal by a factor of 10,000 and can be used with most HEI, DIS and conventional ignition systems. Priced at just 35 GBP (approx 50 USD) it makes an ideal addition to the ADC-212 for automotive diagnostics.

By popular request we have also introduced a lead to allow the ADC-212 oscilloscope to be powered from the cigar lighter socket of the vehicle under test. This makes on the move diagnostics using a ADC-212 and a laptop much more practical.

Also new is an article showing the use of automotive probes (such as ignition pickups and current clamps) with the ADC-212

Our free library of automotive waveforms has been expanded again. If you are using our products for automotive diagnostics, please do save any interesting traces and e-mail them to us (tech@picotech.com) so that we can share them with others.

New Science Experiments

Our library of science experiments for data loggers and oscilloscopes continues to grow. The latest additions are 'Transpiration' which looks at the humidity change caused by a plant and an experiment which models ultrasound scans using lengths of coaxial cables.
