VNA check standards

At European Microwave Week 2018 we introduced two new VNA check standards. These are companion items to a vector network analyzer, used to validate the accuracy of a network analysis test setup and its calibration before, during or after a sequence of measurements.

Two models are available: an insertable male-female and a non-insertable female-female.

PicoScope meets augmented reality

The "Be-greifen" research project, run by a German consortium, aims to use tangible technology to attract young students to science and engineering. One recent example combines a PicoScope oscilloscope with AR (augmented reality) to make CAN Bus waveforms come alive.

The system displays traces from a PicoScope 5000 Series scope, as well as circuit schematics and component data, right next to the device under test.

Reviews

TC-08

Excellent product. We have 6 of these (plus one of the older RS232 versions) and use them mainly for thermal characterization of LV and MV switchgear designs with typically 30-40 thermocouples. Software is quick and easy to set up and use, multiple devices allow a large number of points to be monitored simultaneously. The units are also easy to keep in calibration (using our certified calibration and test provider) to ensure compliance with ISO9001. Highly recommended. --picotech.com

PicoScope 2205A

One of the best tools that i use for troubleshooting.
It's very small and fits to my laptop bag, so i can carry it around the world.
Everything works fine and the CAN analyser is a very good tool when i work in a wind turbine. --picotech.com

PicoScope 2408B

MrW0lf has posted a detailed review of the performance his PicoScope on EEVblog. He found bandwidth and accuracy to be better than our published specifications. --eevblog.com

Frequency Response Analyzer update

Roland van Roy, Senior FAE Manager, Richtek, shows how to measure loop gain and phase in a buck converter using a PicoScope 5000 Series oscilloscope. Roland also explains how to make the signal injection transformer needed for the measurement.

The frequency response analyzer (FRA) software used in the video is available through links on our "Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots" forum post.
