I can't get the TC-08 recognized on Windows XP 64-bit.
I have copied the winusb.dll from %WINDIR%\system32 to %WINDIR%\SysWOW64, and hardware is reported to be found and installed, but it does not appear in the Device Manager list, nor in the PicoLog application.
I have inspected the USB connections using USBDeview, and found that the TC-08 on Windows XP 64-bit is being driven by winusb.sys, while on 32-bit where it operates correctly by picopp.sys.
I do not get my device enumerated, i.e. it doesn't show up in the Device Manager, let alone PicoLog, with either the winusb.dll from the zip file above, or from %WINDIR%/system32 placed in %WINDIR%/SysWOW64.
I have tried removing Pico software, clearing the registry of any VID_0CE9 USB devices, changing USB ports, with no difference.
I do get confirmation that the hardware installed successfully, but cannot see it anywhere except when I use USBDeview.
1) Install the latest software, if you have not done so already.
2) See if it works on another PC
3) What kind of PC or laptop is it?
4) Try a completely different USB port.
5) Try a different cable
I've finally managed it, but not sure what exactly did it.
Removed Pico software, removed the vid_0ce9 devices from registry, rebooted twice, and started all over again with the dll from the above zip in place before installing the software and plugging in the device.
Strangely enough, it still doesn't show up in the Device Manager, but at least the PicoLog app enumerates it successfully.
