ETS Trigger Option not showing

Post by JosefK »

Hi. New Pico user here. So working with a recently acquired 5243D.
So in general I am not seeing the ETS option in the Trigger Mode options.
I am aware that only simple edge trigger type is compatible with ETS.
But I am simply not seeing the ETS option EXCEPT I have seen it while getting used to the kit in general- I just can't get it back or remember the settings used at the time.
Are there limitations on the permutation of conditions (timebase / sample rate etc) under which ETS will appear as an option ?
Thanks for reading.

I would expect the reason you are not seeing ETS is that you have the hardware resolution set to 12 bit or higher. ETS is only available in 8 bit mode.

I see. Thanks for the info. Can you point me to where that is stated (if it is) in the Software User Guide (for version 6 as there isn't one for 7) for internal reference here.
What seems confusing is that IIRC the option doesn't disappear when increasing the number of bits above eight. But it does disappear if you then alter the timebase (and doesn't come back if you reverse the timebase change). Makes sense...sort of...
Thanks again.
