Disable Overrange Warning

Post by dnoyeb »

I am working on an MCU that operates at 5V. All the signals are at or below 5V so I chose 5V channels. If the signal comes in at 5.1V I get a warning. So I am constantly getting warnings. I don't want to change to 10V and lose a lot of resolution. Is it possible to disable this overrange warning? I don't really need it as I can see that the signal has reached the limit.
Thanks,
Carl

Hi dnoyeb,

Unfortunately, providing an out-of-range warning is a necessary implementation for all Manufacturers of Test & Measurement Equipment, in order to comply with Functional Safety Standards.

Hi dnoyeb,

I didn't check that how much of the range you're using. So, if you're not using the full -5V range then you could apply a negative offset to the Channel Input (slightly larger than the amount by which you are over-ranging) which would allow you to remain on the 5V range without over-ranging.
