P1dB utility not working
Hi,
following the PicoTech PicoVNA demo on Youtube we attempted to do a 1dB compression measurement with our PicoVNA 106 and the latest PicoVNA 3 Control V3.1 Jul 23.
We completely failed. It appears that our PicoVNA always outputs the default -3dBm and never changes the output power during the P1dB tool operation as monitored with a PicoScope. We did this as also shown in the Youtube demo, but in contrast to the demo our signal is constant in amplitude. The hardware appears to be ok though, as we can change the PicoVNA output level using the signal generator tool. I have attached a document showing the steps we did.
What did we do wrong? How can we get this to work?

Hello, and thank you for reporting this issue. I can confirm this is an issue with PicoVNA 3, and that it will be fixed in the next release.
In the meantime, the P1dB utility works correctly in a previous version of the software, PicoVNA 2. Please email support@picotech.com and reference this forum thread, so that we can supply you with a version of the working software.
