Trigger Source - Internal Signal Generator

Post by ColdPower »

Hello,

Is it possible to trigger the scope internally from the built in signal gen without obviously using a physical channel? Would be very useful, but I don't see anything in the trigger menu, just trigger to a channel - am I missing something?

Thank you.

Hi

There isn't an internal connection between the signal generator output and any measurement channel so to use the signal generator to trigger the scope or to view the signal it would need to be connected to an input channel externally

Hi Neil,

Thanks for confirming. Would be great to see this added as a feature, so hardware channel isn't taken just to sync with anyway already internally generated signal - very useful in quite a few instances like viewing modulated signals for example - typical case would be Class-D amplifier output, where if scope could be synced internally to the signal generator, the two channels can be used to view both channels of stereo amplifier, not wasting one just to sync with a known source and thus requiring a 4-channel scope!

Thank you.
