DC Average over time

Post by aahusain »

I have a dozen signals hooked up to picoscopes of whose DC averages (over a few kHz bandwidth) I want to optimize in real-time with changing knobs in a lab on the human timescale (seconds to minutes). Is there a way to plot the DC average over time of a signal in the picoscope 6 software? I recognize I could do this by using another piece of equipment, but that is painful for the workflow so please do not suggest that.

Hi aahusain,

I'm responding to this quite late, so if this is still an issue for you, there is a discussion on how to plot thr root-mean-square (RMS) value of a signal on the post here: topic29531.html?&p=149582&hilit=rms#p149582. You just need the 'mean' part of the RMS calculation from one of the 2 last methods suggested.
