Picoscope 5444D not detected. Dead?!

Post by demute »

My Picoscope 5444D is less than a month old and suddenly it stopped working.

It has been connected to my Ubuntu 22.04 system since I got it, together with the supplied AC/DC adapter and a current probe to channel 1. Nothing else, no changes whatsoever.

I've been using a C-program that connects to the unit and I have taken several measurements without a problem.

Now suddenly, I have no connection with the oscilloscope anymore.

Symptoms:
* The red led in the front blinks pretty fast
* sudo dmesg gives NO information when scope is connected
* My program fails at ps5000aOpenUnit (& handle, NULL, PS5000A_DR_16BIT) with status PICO_NOT_FOUND
* lsusb gives me nothing
* It is not found by my Macbook Pro either, where it has been working before (PicoScope 7 T&M.app)
* Connecting the scope through a usb-3 hub makes no difference.
* I have tried with and without AC/DC adapter, no difference.
* I have tried with a USB B 2.0-cable, no difference (I don't have any other USB B 3.0 Superspeed cable than the one that was supplied)

Is the unit dead already? :shock:
