Has anyone already made the mistake and do you know a solution?

I am also having this problem on more than one Win 10 64-bit computer. The previous PicoScope 6 release installs without any problems.

I might have the same problem not being able to install PicoScope 7. I have tried both the stable version 7.1.2 (64-bit) and the early version 7.1.9 (64-bit).
I am using Windows 10 64 bit Enterprise 2015 LTSB.

I believe that I have the same error. I tried with the latest stable release. Also, my log file is attached. A fix or a workaround on this would be much appreciated.

Hi Mischka and adewdney,

Could you post your install logs (or repeat the install and post them).

Also, could you all send a Screen shots of your System info, and let us know what version of .NET you have installed.

Regards,

Gerry

That System Info log file from the HP performance advision also shows the .NET version. My framework version returns as 528372, so I am in somewhere in the 4.8 version family.

HI jpk216 (or anyone else with the same problem).

As the last known version of software in which this occurred was 'PicoScope_7.1.2.15463_TnM_Stable.exe', if this is still a problem, could you do the following:
(a) confirm that this is occurring with the latest version of PicoScope 7 (7.1.13) here: https://www.picotech.com/download/softw ... Stable.exe
(b) send a support request in to our Help Desk here: support@picotech.com, and add 'F.A.O. Gerry' in the Title.

.....I forgot to add that this could be due to the Pico Technology Authentication certificates being previously installed where you as a user, of the software, don’t have access rights to replace them. Before we hand this over to our development team, it would be useful for us (and may be a quicker solution for you) if you could try deleting them using the Certificate Manager.

So, could you try one of the following steps (or both if the other step doesn't work):

Method 1
a) Use the combined key-press (windows+R) to run an executable, and type “certmgr.msc” to run the Certificate Manager

b) In the Manager, click on “Trusted Publishers” to expand the drop down list, then select the Pico Technology Ltd certificates that are older than the current date (that typically don’t have a Friendly Name) and permanently delete them.

C) Re-run the Installation.

Method 2
Use the steps mentioned here: viewtopic.php?t=18991&start=15 (for PicoScope 7 rather than the SDK)

Could you then let us know the outcome.

Sorry for the long delay, basically I gave up and used the old version.
Anyway, now I need the PicoScope for a student, so I had to try again.
I tried both methods to remove "Pico" the related certificates, rebooted and checked that they were permanently gone, then tried installing again (we have to "run as admin" on our corporate laptops), but suffered exactly the same problem. I checked the certificates, they haven't even been re-installed yet.
The log file shows
Applying execute package: KernelDrivers, action: Install, path: C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\{A15826BE-698B-4AFD-A739-164B3A1B327D}v1.0.0.0\PicoDriverPackageSetup.msi, arguments: ' ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT="1" MSIFASTINSTALL="7"'
Error 0x80070643: Failed to install MSI package.
I then tried to look for the Package Cache, and noticed that the directory was
{02A6D4FF-53BC-4052-B40B-A5C9236D89AE}v7.1.21.18179
instead.
I then ran the
PicoScope_7_T&M_7.1.21-18179r81f05e485453b508e02f8413e8290178ac8c8bb3.msi
installer in that directory, which was then able to install correctly.
Hope this information helps.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for responding back with the solution that worked for you. This could be a great help (at the time of writing we're liaising with another customer who appears to have the same problem and, hopefully, will know soon if this also solves his problem. From previous issues, I suspect that it will).

Hi! As a test, I simply copied the PicoScope_7_T&M_7.1.21.msi across onto another computer, and just ran that, without the "wrapper" and it worked fine.
