Hello

Post by FSR »

Hi,

Inherited a 2203 from elderly father-in-law, upgraded an Asus netbook to Linux mint20, installed picoscope, plugged the instrument in and it all works. Yay!

Why? I live on a narrowboat and want to instrument the engine (a BMC1500 diesel), first off being making a tachometer - hoping the scope will assist in seeing if the alternator is giving out useful signals that I can then process using a microcontroller....

Cheers,

You'll have lots of fun with that!
Just remember to attenuate the input signal, the scope only goes to 20V and can be damaged over 100, lots of things around vehicle electrical systems can go above that. Using the 1:1/10:1 probe at 10:1 should be reasonably safe for many things (not all).
