Optic fiber USB 3.0 range extender

Post by max_p »

We would like to extend the USB connection to our PicoScop with a fiber optic range extender. The extender only supports USB 3.0, which is also supported by the PicoScop. However, we do not get a connection via this interface.
Is there a solution to get the whole thing working?

If I remember correctly the initialization is done via the USB2 protocol.
And after initialization it switches to USB3.
But probably someone from picoscope can answer this better for you.

That is exactly what happens so you need an extender that fully supports backwards compatibilty with USB2

Which USB extension is suggested for the Picoscope, or is there any experience with one that works? It can also be a solution without fiber.

I would look at devices from Icron, we have tested a few and they work well.
