delay through a TA057 differential probe

Post by pete_dl »

Hi,

I would be grateful for an estimate of the delay through a TA057 probe. I am using the probe on one of the inputs to my scope and want to make sure there is no significant time delay compared to the other inputs that dont go through a TA057.

Thanks,
Peter.

Can't you just connect another regular scope channel to the same input signal (at a voltage lever that can handle of course) and check for any difference between the channels? Would tell you what you really get, not just a theoretical estimate.

I have a more or les comparable probe "Yokogawa 700925" it is only 15MHz and it shows a delay of about 21 ns
so there will be a delay but it is less than the delay I measure because the TA057 is 25 MHz.
I expect that it will give about 10-15 ns delay.
