USB 3.0 Isolator that is Not USB 2.0/1.0 Backwards Compatible

Post by Andy333 »

Hi,
We are planning to operate a PicoScope 5000-series and/or 2000-series over a high-speed USB-over-fiber data link. The data link only supports full-duplex USB 3.0 and is not backwards compatible with USB 2.0/1.0. My question is whether there are going to be any enumeration or device detection errors? The 5000-series is USB 3.0 so I am not too concerned unless it needs a slower protocol for initial startup. The 2000-series is USB 2.0 but claims that it is USB 3.0 compatible. Does anyone have any insight as to whether it would be able to communicate over a link that required USB 3.0 and doesn't support USB 2.0 protocol?

We require USB 2.0 connectivity for all of our devices, our USB3.0 devices will switch up to USB3.0 to permit faster data transfer.
