Mimetype in .desktop file should be changed

I'm running PicoScope 6 on Kubuntu 20.04. Currently, the installed /usr/share/applications/picoscope.desktop file contains the line:

Code: Select all

MimeType=application/x-psdata;application/octet-stream
The all-encompassing 'application/octet-stream' results in PicoScope erroneously appearing as an associated (often default) application for many (all?) file types. IMO impacting the system in such a way isn't very clean behaviour for an application of this type.

Can a change to this file be considered for a future update? Thanks!
