No scope found in Picolog 6.1.17 and scope 2204

Post by daubsi »

I need to log some data with my trusty 2204A and thus downloaded Picolog 6.1.17. Upon start I can hear the Picoscope clicking the way it can be heard when Picoscope starts, but Picolog does not show me any found oscilloscope. This behaviour is consistent with the version on Windows 10 and Linux (Ubuntu).
With Picoscope the scope is correctly found and displaying data.

With Linux I have additional debugging purposes, so I can say:
It is detected via lsusb:
$ lsusb
Bus 002 Device 005: ID 1199:9011 Sierra Wireless, Inc.
Bus 002 Device 004: ID 0489:e031 Foxconn / Hon Hai
Bus 002 Device 006: ID 0b97:7772 O2 Micro, Inc. OZ776 CCID Smartcard Reader
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 0b97:7761 O2 Micro, Inc. Oz776 1.1 Hub
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 8087:0024 Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 014: ID 0ce9:1007 Pico Technology PicoScope 2000 series PC Oscilloscope
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 8087:0024 Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

When picolog starts I can see some errors in the console:
[ 1270.293270] usb 1-1.5: reset high-speed USB device number 12 using ehci-pci
[ 1270.407212] usb 1-1.5: usbfs: process 7513 (picolog.bin) did not claim interface 0 before use

[ 1284.189012] usb 1-1.5: reset high-speed USB device number 12 using ehci-pci
...
The error messages are consistent with the interval of reset-clicks.

Is there anything I need to do before picolog will work?

Hi daubsi,

This issue would be better handled by our Help Desk. So, could you send an email to support@picotech.com, with your description of the problem.
