Picolog 1012 resolution

Post by titimar16 »

Hi,
Why does the datasheet say that the Picolog 1012 has 10 bits resolution but the function MaxValue() return 4092 ?
10 bits means 1024 values and 4092 means 12 bits.
Is it an error in the datasheet or in the library ?

Hi titimar16,

When working with the SDK, the size of the data is always a number of bits larger than we quote in the specifications. This is because the extra bits are used during the initial Test and Calibration of the device. The actual number of bits available to the user for measurement are as stated in the spec (so 10-bits is correct for the PicoLog 1012).
