Monitoring the Signal Generator AWG without a physical channel loopback

Post by MrCallisto »

Hello Pico,
Does anyone know how to show on the PicoScope 6.xx the waveform the AWG without to connect one of the channels to the AWG please?

I would like something like an extra AWG monitor live view(the same view shown like the other channels).
- much easier if I can show just the live digital waveform to have a reference AWG waveform on the screen and
the rest of the channels free to monitor and make my comparisons.
If it doesn't exist it is possible to implement this? would be very useful and it is not difficult I suppose.

to remember ancient times I bought the PS2204 2channel usb scope and works very well on its specs.

thanks,
callisto.

Hi MrCallisto,

Unfortunately there is no way to do this, as there is no internal link between the Sig Gen and the PicoScope Channels.

What you would need is an alternative low cost (if you can find one) or free (if you already have one) data acquisition system that can display waveforms. For instance, you might be able to pick up a low cost USB analog input module, and then find some free software to display the waveform. Failing that, you could just get a PicoScope 2204A for £79.
