Re: Info Please on Operation of AWG Channel on Picoscope 2405A

Hi Irvin, I’ve only now (08:15 Tuesday) seen your reply to my two posts yesterday morning and lunch time. Your main reply is time-stamped 13:55 Monday, yet wasn’t present when I checked throughout the day, up until 22:30. Presumably because of moderator delay. So who knows when you’ll see this one! ...

Re: Info Please on Operation of AWG Channel on Picoscope 2405A

Attached are screenshots from bread-boarding your circuit at three frequencies: 70Hz, 1kHz and 10kHz. Lacking a 160 ohm I used a 150 ohm resistor. And as per my post early this morning I used an external signal generator. As expected the results are similar to yours. I haven't done the math but they...

Re: Info Please on Operation of AWG Channel on Picoscope 2405A

I couldn't get to my shed workshop at the time so my screenshot was a simplified simulation intended to show you the correct cable connections. And anyway, as mentioned, my 2205A apparently doesn't have an operational AWG signal socket. So when I get to the shed later I'll breadboard your RC filter ...

Re: Info Please on Operation of AWG Channel on Picoscope 2405A

So frustrating to 'Preview' a carefully prepared post and get its contents deleted instead! I tried again, this time previewing directly after that sentence above plus an image. Same result, although now I got a message: "Error 504 Ray ID: 461d1937e8516a97 • 2018-09-29 08:33:19 UTC Gateway time-out"...

Re: Pico 2200-Series USB streaming constraints

Just found this thread and finding it very instructive. Like Alex, I too am trying to understand how to get the best out of my 2205A. I find the interaction of the various parameters rather difficult to grasp. And as described in my recent posts I have an additional obstacle in the slow speed of my ...

Re: Freezes with any timescale over 5s

Unfortunately that gave a message to "Check the USB cable". Further tests showed that the highest I could reach was 30kS. I'm coming reluctantly to the conclusion that it must be some limitation of my shed XP, particularly its slow USB ports. I'm sure I didn't have these sort of issues with my previ...

Re: Signals often not displayed

Thanks Hitesh, and sorry for late reply; I somehow missed your post until now.

Those look useful resources. Pretty sure I've studied the Beginner's Guide before many years ago but will re-read, and also try some of the videos.

Re: Freezes with any timescale over 5s

Do you still get the issue if you are just collecting raw data? Thanks Martyn but please remember that I'm in re-learning mode - and from a pretty basic 'hobbyist' level to start with! Specifically, I don't understand what you mean by "just collecting raw data"? As the issue is: "why does the progr...

Freezes with any timescale over 5s

Yet another freezing problem with my 2505A using PicoScope 6.11.10.1540. 5s/div works OK but as soon as I select any longer period the program freezes. I'm doing mainly 'real time' experimenting, with manual push-button input signals over a long period, sometimes several minutes. So I'm currently st...

Re: Adding time to data

I do hope I'm proved wrong, but I suspect PicoScope does not have the mussel power for this task.

Re: Zoom not working correctly?

Hi Gerry,

Yep, 32-bit. Made around 1899!

I guess it's looking like the USB speed problem I discussed previously with you (phone) and Martyn (here).

Do you agree?

Re: Zoom not working correctly?

Hi Terry, The Demo version should also work on your XP machine, as it doesn't need to communicate with any hardware (which is where the problem arises). Hi Gerry, Yes, but it's easier to take the data to the house by USB stick. The shed PC is set up for real use with the 2205A. Could you answer the...

Zoom not working correctly?

I zoomed in on my captured signal. But whatever method I used to get back to the normal x1 view, that froze the program. https://www.dropbox.com/s/x0rrokz7ci0lt4s/ZoomProblem-1.jpg?raw=1 EDIT: Just tried this on my Win 10 PC with the demo option (sine wave default) - and that works OK, both dragging...

Re: Signals often not displayed

Thanks, I’ll save a .psdata file the next time I get this issue. Re your question about what I’m trying to measure: nothing in particular. I’m in re-learning mode, applying signals of known type (sine, square, brief pulses, etc) and viewing them on the PicoScope. I suspect that some of my difficulti...
