res enhance

Do you have any resolution enhance active (more than 12 bits)? Are you using a custom probe setting of any kind? Can you post a data file so we can see your settings? _________________ Tom Roberts (The Picotologist) http://www.autonerdz.com skype: autonerdz THE PicoScope Automotive Authority In Nort...

filtering

If I understand correctly, this sounds like normal operation in streaming mode. When you have filtering enabled and you are in streaming mode (display draws from left to right), the filter is not applied until the capture is complete. This causes the display to appear unfiltered as it draws across t...

copy startup

The startup settings are saved on the PC. The easiest way to transfer your startup settings to another PC is to save a psdata (or pssettings) file using your desired settings and then open this file using the other copy of PicoScope. Then simply save settings. Hope this helps... _________________ To...

Sampling

Actually, you can achieve twice that sample rate on a 20ms capture and sample at 80MHz per channel and collect 1,600,000 samples on each one for a 12.5ns sample interval. The waveform buffer index will collect 7 of these screens. _________________ Tom Roberts (The Picotologist) http://www.au...

Screen Gaps

StrongT You are correct. The screens in the waveform buffer index are not seamless. Each screen is a seamless record but there are small gaps between the screens. These gaps will vary depending on what scope and what settings you are using. To minimize the impact of these gaps, you can increase the ...

Automotive Kit

If you don't already have the 4224, you would be better off getting the 4423 automotive kit, which has many automotive accessories. The kit is a much better value. Purchasing a scope and then only a few of the accessories included in the kit will actually cost more than the complete package. _______...

Open PicoScope, say yes to demo device, choose the appropriate one. Then file/open your data file from within PicoScope. At this time, Pico 6 has a bug that w...

current

Robin, Sounds like that is what he is doing. xavier, You can measure the voltage drop across the resistor, but then you will have a voltage potential on the scope ground. If you have other channels deployed, then this will feed through to the other channel grounds. I suggest you use a current probe:...

filtering

Guest, The best way to accomplish this with the current PicoScope 6 build is to apply a measured amount of resolution enhance to the channel you wish to filter. Be careful with this so as not to filter out things that may be important. Watch for an even better method in the next build 8) There are a...

PC Requirements

The Autonerdz recommendations are a bit higher assuming you will be using PicoScope 6 Automotive with this: We suggest 1GHz processor or faster. We have found 256MB RAM to be inadequate. We recommend 1GB for XP and 2GB for Vista minimum. USB 2.0 is required to utilize the PicoScope 6 high speed stre...
