So I decided to get started with a 2204A but noticed there is a spike 43kHz even when probes are zeroed and nothing is attached to the probes. has anyone else noticed an arbitrary small but constantly persistant spike at around 43kHz? Is this a sign that something has broken? I have zeroed the probe, and have nothing attached, yet the reading persists at around -82dbu.

how well does signal generation and spectrum analysis work for the frequency range of 100khz-900khz? I am studying low cost methods for gas and fluid flow analysis as well as collision detection using ultrasound at these ranges. The PS 2204A seems like a very affordable choice.
