I'd like to use PicoScopes in an ATE setup but without UART & SPI serial decoding, I am looking at much more expensive products and/or s/w options.

The only alternative I've found for the PicoScope so far is: WaveBPS from here:

OK, answered my own question. Trying out the PicoScope 6 Demo software answers questions (i), (ii) & partly (iii).
