Hi All, The intention of this post is tell about a good color setup for MSO that I am really happy about. In the beginning when I was working with MSO I found it tedious to sort out which wire was going where when they are all red. I have found these IDC connectors, H3DDH-2018M at Digikey with elect...
Hi I want to buy an active probe for my picoscopes. I am developing a battery powered device, that needs to have very low sleep mode current consumption. Normally, I would just insert a 10 Ohm resistor in the supply and measure the voltage across, and calculate the current, but there is a x1000 time...
Hi How do you recommend getting started with SDK? Do you have a 'step by step guide for dummies?' I have installed installed microsoft visual studio and the pico SDK. During compilation it says: Warning CS0649 Field 'ChannelSettings.values' is never assigned to, and will always have its default valu...
Hi My PS5244 has stopped working. PicoScope 6.10.16.2 can no longer find the scope. When the scope is plugged in the red LED goes on like normal and the PC finds it, but PS6 does not. I have tried to uninstall and re-install the USB driver. That did not change anything. I am using the latest version...
I am using the rapid capture mode on my 5244B. This is really a great new feature that has been added to PicoScope 6. I have one issue with the rapid capture, and that is that the maximum time span seems to be 10ms. Why is it so low? And is it any higher on for example 3205D MSO? This is a scope tha...
OK, I understand. The apparent "underperformance" is caused by 1) a fixed set of possible sample rates 2) a fixed set of possible screen time. 3) The size of the memory buffer. Obviously, 1 and 3 are real limits, that you can not get around. In general I am very happy with my PicoScopes (have got tw...
Hi Alan, Thanks for the hint about using single shot trigger, that did really double the available memory. But there is still a way to go to get the performance of the advertised performance . With single shot my PS5244B can now delivers 41.67MS/s (not 50MS/s). And it is able to use 208 MS (not 256 ...
Hi I have a 5244B, or at least that is what I thought I bought... According to specification 5244B should have a Maximum sampling rate of 250 MS/s (two channels, 8bit) and memory of 512 MS. When I try to use memory, Picoscope 6 will not go any higher than 25MS/s and 125Ms, for the 5 sec time span th...
Hi I agree with Bill and Martyn. PicoScope can be improved significantly, if the scaling is improved. I have written about it before on this forum. The readability of the scales would increase significantly, if you put an effort into it. To me it is not so important if it is 1 2 5 scaling, and/or pa...
I have found at least part of the answer. It seems, that it has to do with the number of samples. If the waveform contains too many samples, then the reference waveform gets reduced. Is that really necessary??
I just want to chip in, now that somebody else is also commenting on a subject that I care about. Grid lines like 1.427V, 1.806V and 2.185V are much slower to read than 1.4, 1.8 and 2.2 Volt It is 100 times easier to calculate the middle point between 1.8 and 2.2 Volt, than it is between 1.806 and 2...
