software stability issues

Hi, I have not been using PicoScope for a year or so. In the mean while I got a new laptop with 64-bit Windows 7. But now I can hardly use PicoScope 6. From the Help, About PicoScope 6 menu: PicoScope® 6 - PC Oscilloscope software version: 6.5.74.42 Copyright © 1995-2011, Pico Technology Ltd Model: ...

Lowpass filter minor issue

I was using the lowpass filter. When you switch the probe from 10x to 1x in PicoScope 6, the lowpass filter is automatically switched off, but the checkbox remains checked. Clicking it twice off and on, it starts working again. I'd prefer that the lowpass filter remains active. software version: 6.3...

Hold on, make it a four channel scope! I forgot the AUX port at the backside. I don't need much bandwidth, a few MHz will do. I do need deep memory.

Using the external trigger input as a digital input channel?

Hi, I'm using the 5204. Is it possible to use the external trigger input as a third input? Of course it has only one bit of resolution. To find enough memory or if memory bandwidth is a problem at high sampling speed, I'd be happy to sacrifice one bit of resolution in channel A or B. Most of the tim...

I just upgraded PicoScope on my laptop to 6.0.13.3. Same problem as the others mentioned. Also my own C code doesn't work anymore. Here is a fragment where it goes wrong: /* Start it collecting, then wait for completion*/ g_ready = FALSE; status = ps5000RunBlock(handle, 0, BUFFER_SIZE, timebase, 1, ...

Hi Maren,

I had the same problem with my 5204. After rebooting the PC it worked properly.

I couldn't find a change log either. Looks like a very minor upgrade.

How to get trigger hold off function?

Conventional scopes have a hold off knob to adjust the moment the scope is allowed to search for the next trigger. Does the 5204 have an equivalent modus? I need it to trigger on complex waveforms (first of a series of pulses)

wish list for 5204 successor

I'm using the 5204 a lot lately. I would probably buy another when it has:

- 4 analog input channels and 8 digital inputs (or 2 analog + 8 digital)
- a much larger sample memory for the arbitrary waveform generator
- doesn't need a noisy fan

memory depth and bandwidth are ok.

Hi Ziko, Thanks for your reaction. Unfortunately it was not the answer I was hoping for... Any chance on having this single shot, all memory feature soon in PicoScope? I'd rather not program it myself. You can achieve oversampling at 1GS/s however you would have to make sure the collection time is s...

single shot acquisition using full buffer size

Hi, Yesterday I received my new 5204. I have been experimenting and reading documentation, but so far no success. I need to sample one channel at (approximately) 32MSa/s and I want to use the full 128 MSamples. This will give me 4 seconds of data. questions: - how do I do this in with PicoScope 6 (6...
