Am am decoding DMX512 using the UART protocol and the data is ok. If i use the DMX512 (BETA) decoder the data is bad. It is almost like the baud rate is set way too low. The data is displayed under the waveform about every 3 DMX channels. The decoder auto detects the baud rate correctly at 250kb.
Also, the Serial decoding window doesn't change when changing protocols. You have to disable and re-enable the decoding to force an update.
I have attached screenshots of the decodes on the same data.
BTW are there any plans to support decoding of manchester encoded data like DALI or Philips RC-5?
Serial decoding is currently undergoing significant development and review. This will include the introduction of new protocols, I have added Philips RC-5 to the list, DALI was already on it, and it will address a number of decoding errors that have been introduced in recent versions of the software.
This work will appear in future releases so please check for updates.
The release is due out very soon, it includes all the decoders that were there and a couple that were near release before the decision was made to rewrite the code. We need to make sure that this is OK before adding support for new protocols.
The mechanism for adding these has been simplified so I will re flag the request for Dali and RC-5
I'm new to DMX decoding. I successfully decoded a DMX frame with my Picoscope 2204A, but I used the RS232 protocol decoding tool. I get no result with the DMX decoder, but inacurate ones (only 0 and 255). Could you help me ? I do not find detailled explanations on how to choose the appropriate settings for DMX decoding.
