Help, I have a PLW file that I can't open, I believe the network connection failed and this closed the file incorrectly, does anyone know how I get the 6000+ records back? I have the PLS and PLW files but am unsure what to do with it. Does anyone know how to record the data live after each data set has been read?
If you can send us an email to support@picotech.com with an explanation of the problem. If you could attach the corrupted file and either a settings file (pls) or a good file (plw) with the same settings as the corrupted file then we can try and retrieve the information from the corrupted file.
Don't you think that the problems with all the many users who report corrupted files from PicoLog could be addressed to the problem that I raised in a post from March 30. in the PicoLog Forum: http://www.picotech.com/support/topic5979.html
If somehow the program crashes or freeze, all data are lost, because of a bug in recent releases of PicoLog.
In the above mentioned post your SW department have confirmed the problem. I quote PeterF's answer:
...
"Hi,
Software have now confirmed the problem you have found. They have a fix but it will have to wait for the next release of PicoLog. When that is out you should be OK. I don't have a timescale for you unfortunately but we do update regularly.
Regards,
PeterF."

By the way, I think it must be time now for a release that fixes the bug.
I'm still using release 5.20.5 which does not have that bug.
If Version 5.20.5 does not have that bug, is it possible to download this older version? I am using the latest version supplied with the TC08 last month (R5.21.1) and have a copy of R5.08.6 supplied some years past with the serial version of the TC08's but am unsure if this works with the USB version of the TC08.
Thanks for uploading the file, I have now downloaded and will load up at next cycle change on current test. I will then post the responce detailing the improvements. I would agree that a new version should be released ASAP, I purchased the TC08 a month before I started the test and have already (potentially) lost 333 hours of data, I hope that this is recovered successfully.
Again thanks to all who have posted responces and offered help and assistance.
I have now loaded the older version and everything is working as I would expect, it even pulled the newer PLS file through without any issues. I would like to know if the files sent can be recovered and when I would expect to see them?
If you could send the files to me at support@picotech.com and reference them to lee. I will then do my best to recover the corrupted files for you. Please could you also attach a good 'Settings' File or a good working file with the same settings. If you can send them to me i will try and turn them around as quickly as possible but please be advised pending on how corrupted they are I may not be able to recover them but I will certainly try for you.
