Compatibility Inquiry: PicoScope 6402C with 6000E A API

Post by sosongha3 »

Hi. I am currently developing an application using PicoSDK and have a query regarding API compatibility between different PicoScope models. Specifically, I am working with a PicoScope 6402C model but need to ensure compatibility with the 6000E series as well.

Here are the details of my query:
  • My current hardware is the PicoScope 6402C.
  • The corresponding SDK version for this model is the 6000 API.
  • I need to develop an application that supports the 6000E series, which utilizes the 6000E A API.

Given these requirements, I would like to know:
  • Is it possible to use the 6000E A API with the PicoScope 6402C model?
  • If not, what would be the best approach to ensure compatibility between these two series in a single application?

I have referred to the Pico Technology documentation and forum discussions, which suggest that the 6000E A API may not be compatible with the 6402C model. However, I seek confirmation and any potential recommendations or workarounds you might provide.

This will need some detailed discussions to work out what functionality you are using with the PicoScope 6402C as both devices will need to use their own API interface.

Can I ask that you email the support team directly on support@picotech.com with further details including the programming language and environment you are using, and we will be able to guide you on the best approach.
