Pre-ADC anti-aliasing filters for 3404A using LabVIEW

Post by Iain@mobolo »

Hi,

I'm using LabVIEW to control a Picoscope 3404A and it's going really well. Indeed, I must say I'm really impressed with the capability of both.

I have a question regarding anti-aliasing filters prior to the ADC for the 3404A. I'm aware that most of the low pass filtering capability available is provided by the Pico6 software and not therefore not available via the API. However I'm interested to know what hardware/firmware based filters occur within the 3404A prior to the ADC. For example, when a sample rate is set via the API (at say 250 kHz), does the 3404A apply any anti-aliasing filters prior to the ADC and if so at what cut-off frequency do these filters (125kHz?).

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Cheers, Iain

There is a 20MHz bandwidth limiter for each channel that can be switched in using the ps3000aSetBandwidthFilter command, there are no anti aliasing filters.
