Application starts, but is invisible

There is only the window frame visible. The application seems to be working, but the window is completely transparent. Nothing is visible in the application window.
I have attached the program output and trace.xml
OS: Ubuntu 14.04

Would it be possible to provide a screenshot of what is displayed please?

If this was a result of choosing to run in Demo mode, what happens if a device is connected?
