Speake sensor data loging

Post by cbpichan »

I am using the FGM3 sensors from Speake as a gradiometer and want to output to a computer. I was wondering if there is a bottle neck with data logging. Is there any advantage to a data logging unit over another , I want to have a high sample speed and I do want to be able to input 3 or 4 sensors in the future. What is my best choice for getting the data to a computer as fast as possible.
Thank you,
Cary

Hi Cary

Thank you for your post.

Eachlogger will have different advantages over another - this depends on what you are wanting to do.

I would suggest that our USB ADC-11 may be of interest to you, this is an 11 channel data logger and has a maximum sampling speed of 20kS/s which is split between the active channels.

The main consideration to be made is input voltage. The input voltage range of the ADC-11 is 0 to 2.5V. Would this be a good range for your sensor outputs?

If not then please supply me with some more information as to your sensors' output and I will be able to better advise you.

Hope this helps

Best Regards
