Timebase problem 5444B

Post by StuW »

I've started writing a labview (2013) program for a 5444B, but I'm stuck with understanding the timebase.

Using PS5000 block, the lowest timebase I can use is 2 - i.e. 250MS/s. I've disabled channels B,C and D using PS5000 settings, but an error is still thrown up if I reduce timebase to less than 2. To me it looks as if the Block and RapidBlock functions can't be informed that channels have been disabled and assume 4 channels are in use - anything I'm missing here?

Thanks in advance.

What resolution are you using?

Good question.

I'm using the PS5000 functions Open, Settings and Rapid. I can't see any options for setting the resolution in these functions, and haven't therefore explicitly set the resolution.

I assumed the default resolution was 8-bit, but if it wasn't it would explain the lower allowed maximum timebase which appears to be 500MS/s.

Hi,

Looking at the PS5000asdk_r10_5_0_32 PicoScope5000aExampleBlock.vi I was able to set the timebase to 0. (Please look at image below)
PS5000asdk_r10_5_0_32 PicoScope5000aExampleBlock.vi
PS5000asdk_r10_5_0_32 PicoScope5000aExampleBlock.vi
The screen shot shows block mode with a timebase of 0 and the resolution circled on the left.

If you set the resolution to 8 bit can you set a timebase of 0?

Kind Regards,
