Starting PicoLog Recorder

Post by Frankd »

Hi

I downloaded and installed PicoLog_r5_23_0.exe on Win 7
On the List of installed programs I see the entry for PicoLog Recorder as well as the PicoLog Player.
However when I want to start the Recorder I only get the PLW Player.
In the programs folder I can only see one application, the same one which is started by either the Player or Recorder entry on the programs menu.

Am I missing something from my installation or do I need to start the application in a particular way to get the PicoLog Recorder to run

Thanks
Frank

If clicking on Picolog Recorder brings up a Player it means you already have the Recorder running. You will find this in the bottom right system tray as a minimized PL icon. Click on this to reactivate it.

Hi Martyn

Thanks for the information, it was as you indicated, thanks again.
Can I ask is it possible to save the recorded data to a CSV file - having a timestamp column instead of the integer second values?

In the Spreadsheet options you can select the Time Format from:

Numeric - the time in the selected sampling time units since the start of the run

Time since start - the time in hours, minutes and seconds since the start of the run

Time of day - each sample is labelled with the time it was taken

Date/time - each sample is labelled with the date and time it was taken

I had actually found the Time Format options in the Spreadsheet tool, however what I cannot yet do is to save a CSV file showing the Date/Time the values were taken.

I would like to get the values into Excel with the Date/Time

Thanks

I have been able to save the data from the spreadsheet in text format after getting it to display the data and time.
Thanks for your help
