Save as .TXT by default

Post by Poco »

Hi,
Is it possible to save all test results as .txt files instead as .PSD files? We are running ver 5.16.2. I checked the documentation and I don't see any method of doing this. Many thanks,
Poco

Hi Martyn,
Thank you for your reply. I understand you can do this. We create 300 PSD files each day and I was looking for a way to automatically save each test as a TXT file. I am aware I can batch convert, but creating TXT files on the fly is my aim. Is there any way to accomplish this?
Many thanks

Hi Martyn,
It is a ADC212. I think version 5 will only work with this model.

Unfortunately it is not possible to automatically save to txt format with Picoscope 5 software, and as you have identified you are restricted to this version of the software with the ADC212. So I am sorry but the batch convert would be the only option in this case.

Picoscope 6 software has the ability to setup alarm conditions and perform actions. The conditions can include capture complete, buffers full, masks fail etc, and the actions can include write to file in specified format, and restart capture. The software supports our oscilloscope range as well as the Picolog1000 series devices.

The other option would be to download the SDK for the ADC212 and use the excel example to read data into that, particularly if that is the reason you are writing to txt files.
