annotate the wave form and the serial decode

Post by ralphb »

Is there a way to annotate the oscillope drawing and the serial decode window with notes that will be saved?

Thanks in advance

There is a notes section Edit->Notes which may meet your requirements.

There is no way to do this from within the software so you would need to use Edit->CopyEntireWindowAsImage to create a screen image and then annotate this in a third party piece of software.

Hi,
It's better to have a waveform annotation facility inside the wave form. it helps a lot when you are analyzing waveform for future you. I wonder why picoscope people did not include it in the software.. :?:

Annotation has been logged as a feature request, if and when it is implemented will depend upon development resources

I would settle for being able to find a 3rd party screen overlay program.
Something that is transparent but could add text to show which trace is what. It is also hard to match up the trace color with the channel settings to see what channel it is even. I'm sure that this must be a nightmare for color blind engineers and technicians. A program would certainly help if anyone knows of any.

I find that post-it notes do not always stick very well to the sides of my screen and when I move a trace, I have to move the post-it-note as well.

Thanks,
boB

+1 for wish to annotate directly on the waveform

Never knew I needed the feature until I started using it in PicoLog where it's awesome!
