Logging frequency

Post by NickS »

Hi,
I am currently using the ADC-100 unit, and need to record input frequency (from a sensor which is being triggered at 0-100Hz) against time.
How do I do it???
Regards

Hi

Thank you for your email.

In order to record frequency in Picolog you simply select the Frequency parameter option when setting up the channel.

Hope this helps

Hi,
Thanks for the reply but I can't find a 'frequency' option- where is it hidden?
Best regards

Hi

The frequency option should be in a drop down box when setting up the channel - along with AC Volts and DC Volts etc.

Make sure that you are using the latest version of our software - R5.11.06.

Hope this helps

Hi,

i dont want to make a new topic over the same issue, but I'm having the following problem.

The frequency option in the drop down menu will dissapear if sample rate 50ms is selected. With 1s sample rate it is an option. This for real time continous mode.

From fast block in cant find an option for frequency logging.

Sinal frequency
signal 1 800hz-6000, amplitude ~10V
signal 2 2000hz-10 000hz amplitude 5V

I'm using ADC-216 with the latest version of picolog.

Any hints?

Hi

Thank you for your post.

I believe this function disappears from the software because it cannot measure frequencies when faster than 1s speeds. When looking at frequencies that are too high to be measured with this sampling rate you need to use either Picoscope or a frequency to voltage converter to interface the signal to the logger.

Hope this helps
