Can't open unit using labview 10

Post by KentS »

I am having problems using Labview 10 with my Picoscope 3425. I downloaded and installed the Pico software and I can use the scope that way. But if I try and use Labview and the PS3000.llb I can't seem to make the ps3000 Open Unit.vi return anything but a zero (0). Any suggestions?
thanks,
Kent

Make sure that the device is not open in another application, and that you are using the ps3000 files and not the ps3000a ones.

Hi Martyn,
No other apps that talk to the Picoscope are open. I can start and stop the Picoscope software and it can open the scope. Of course it is not running when I try Labview.
I am using a file named ps3000.llb, modified on 5/22/2007, 283 KB.

Any other suggestions?
thanks,
Kent

For a sanity check I have just downloaded the examples linked two posts ago and have run them successfully with a PicoScope 3224 series scope which I had on my desk.

Can you please verify that you have tried this example code ?

No - Then please try it

Yes and it still fails - Let us know which PicosScope model you have, and if there is an a or b at the end of the number.

The 3204b is one of the newer 3000 series devices and will not work with the older 3000 series Labview examples and driver.

Please go to http://www.picotech.com/software.html select PicoScope 3204B at Step 1 and the Software Development Kit at Step 2 and you should find examples that will work with your scope.
