Using a PicoScope 4000 series with VirtualBox

Post by BSI »

Hi,
I am curious to hear whether people experienced some issue in using a Pico Scope 4000 series (4227 n my case) with VirtualBox, the virtualization software?

Host:
Win 7

VirtualBox 4.1.10 with Windows XP guest OS.

The Pico shows up in the USB device list of VirtualBox, however VBox returns a message "USB device is busy with previous request". I suspect it is a VBox issue, not a Pico one, but in case somebody came across this and solved it, I would like to hear how.
Thx
Laurent.

VirtualBox has some weird USB issues at times.

The quick-fix is to swap the USB lead to another port.
Otherwise use another VM (VMWare, Virtual PC, etc)

Hi,

After yet more fiddling it now works. I followed the instruction https://forums.virtualbox.org/topic29034.html? that describes the issue as well. This approach at first did not work, but after repeating it, it worked. But yes, it sounds that there are some potential issues with USB.

Thx for your post TinWhisker.
