I'm used to work with Picoscope 5, but my new Pico (PicoScope 4424) needs Picoscope 6 to work. Is the classic "average" function available on this new version??? I mean, not the function that shows me the average value of the signal, but the function that cleans out the signal noise... Thank you.
Yes, but "Low Pass Filtering" is a totally different function from the old "Average"... I can't believe that such an important feature had been canceled from the software...
We currently do not have the averaging feature, this is because it is not as straight forward as the days of PicoScope 5. Our new oscilloscopes have much larger memory and as such we would have to deploy a limitation on the memory.
However it is in our to do list, so watch this space
Averaging has been available as a maths channel for a while now. From the tools menu create a new maths channel, you may need to click on advanced to see all the different maths channels, the function you need is the X with a line above it (can not find the symbol on my keyboard).
In the next release of PicoScope the average function will also be available from the channel options dialog in a similar way to the controls for filtering and resolution enhancement.
