pl1000.dll on AMD64

Post by bartj »

Hello,

I have a Picolog project developed on XP VS2008 vb.net. Works great.

However I am attempting to run it on a AMD64 Win 7 box and it fails when I try to obtain a handle. It complains that it cannot find pl1000.dll. But I have a copy in the app dir and in windows\system32. Running regsvr32 fails. I have nothing else in the project except a call to obtain a handle.

Comments? Error detail below...
Thanks,
Bartj

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

This was resolved by bartj with a further resolution relating to running the application on a 64-bit system through our Helpdesk e-mail system.

The solution to the latter is to set the compile options to x86 (instead of "any" or "x64") in the development environment.
