New xp installation and Picoscope 6 error

Post by amaurot »

Hello
I had recently a wipeout and reinstallation of Xp on the machine we use for data acquisition. Picoscope 6 installed fine, and picoscope 4424 is recognized by windows. However I cannot start picoscope software.
Each time I start it I get a crash error:
no startup settings
I have tried to reinstall, repair, install the beta version, and so on. But nothing seems to work.
I also removed the settings in the admin folder, but no luck.
At the moment I am unable to start up picoscope 6.5.84 nor 6.6 beta, no matter if the usb cable is connected or not. Even trying to open a psdata file gives error...
Please advice

This type of problem is often caused by an issue with the .Net Framework.

Looking at the error file produced by PicoScope that you supplied to our support team, in particular the file trace.xml, you will find a CLSID which will indicate the problem component.

In this case HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{CF4CC405-E2C5-4DDD-B3CE-5E7582D8C9FA} which is %systemroot%\system32\wbem\wmiutils.dll
