Temperature logging

Post by guesty »

Hi, I have just set up my tc-08 (serial) for the first time. I've set it up and got it working using two seperate type K thermocouple cables twisted together at the end. The temperatures are recording but the temperatures are incorrect and are also goin in the wrong direction. IE. When I warm them they indicate a reduction in temperature and visa versa.
What have I done wrong?

Hi,
If they are reading in reverse you may have them wired up in the wrong polarity, just reverse the wiring at the plugs. Why have you twisted them together? Each thermocouple will have two wires spot-welded together at the tip. Do not connect tips together otherwise, it will cause errors.

Thanks for that. The polarity did the trick. I did not meen 2 thermocouples twisted together but just the type K cable ends twisted together to form 1 thermocouple not ideal I know but its ok for getting the kit set up and operating..

Cheers
