x10 probe

Post by devid »

My solution might well be RTFM, so apologies in advance.

I've just attached a x10 probe to allow me to measure signals above 20V but I don't really know how to tell PicoScope that it's a x10 probe. I'm having to just multiply the displayed voltage by 10!

I've looked at the Tools->Custom probes menu but even when I select the x10 option from either "library" or "built in" it appears to make no difference.

Also, the channel vertical scaling only goes as low as 0.2, not the 0.1 which might be what I need.

Basic question is: how do I use a x10 probe?

Thanks

David,

The Tools/Custom Probes takes you the the custom probe editing area. This is where you can create and edit custom probes but you cannot select them from that area.

To select the probe you want for a channel, choose the channel options for that channel. In the current version, this is the channel letter. Where it says probe click on the down arrow button. This will show the probes to select for the channel. The other button there with the three dots takes you the the probe editing dialog the same as Tools/Custom Probes menu does.
