EL037 and EL005

Post by guest75 »

Hi,

We see there is a jumper for EXT and NET in the EL037. Is EXT for an external power supply to the EL037 while the NET is the setting for the EL037 to draw its supply from the Enviromon Network?

We have a sensor that needs to be supplied with power. Looking at the EMW PDF manual (R5.06) on page 28, we see the connections for such a setup (middle diagram).

Just to clarify, is the 'Power' connector an input that goes into the EL037? Or is it an output that goes to the sensor? If it is the latter, where does the power come from? Is it used with the EXT jumper setting mentioned above?

Lastly, we understand the EL005 has a backup internal battery. What happens if power is not restored until after the internal battery is flat? Would data acquired so far still be stored? In short, is the memory on the data logger non-volatile?

Thank you.

Hi,

The ext and net are as you assumed for providing power form the enviromon network or from an external source which can be either 12 or 24 volts. To use this voltage to power a convertor you would use the V+ and the ground, which is part of the terminal block for each channel.

If the network power is used then the voltage will be approximately 11 - 12 volts.

If the power supply and battery should stop providing power to the enviromon system, the data that has been taken will still be stored, so the memory is non-volitile and when the power is recovered the data logger will then start logging as previously configured.

Best regards,
