There has been an a couple of issues with the PL1000 series of data acquisition units, You may be experiencing issues like :
Cannot use multiple devices.
Hardware not recognised.

I just got a PicoLog 1216 and a Wika Transducer 4-20mA output. I have been supported that it's fine. However, Manual of PicoLog said just get 0 - 2.5 VDC. Is this true? If so, How I can make the PicoLog takes 4-20mA input.
Hi,
It is really easy to convert to 4-20mA input on the PL1000 series. You simply add a 120 ohm resistor across the input & 0V of the channel in question. If you use the small terminal board supplied with the PicoLog, there are positions to add 0805 surface mount resistors in the relevant places:- http://www.picotech.com/document/pdf/Sm ... sGuide.pdf
The 4mA current will then generate 480mV at the input and 20mA will generate 2.4Volts. To convert these voltages into properly scaled readings, you must use the "Scaling" option in PicoLog. If, for instance, the output of the transducer is 0% at 4mA & 100% at 20mA, you would set up a look-up table to equate 480(mV) to 0(%) & 2400(mV) to 100(%).
When in the "PicoLog 1216 Measurements" dialog box, click "Edit" for the channel in question.
In the "PicoLog 1216 Edit measurement" box, click "Options"
In the "Parameter options" box, tick "Use Parameter Formatting" and set "Units" to "%", "Formatting" to your own preference and then click "Scaling"
In the "Parameter Scaling" box, set "Scaling method" to "Table look-up".
In the blank box, you can now enter pairs of "Raw" & "Scaled" readings. In this case the table looks like:-
480 0
2400 100

Up until the other day, my PicoLog1216 has given faultless data logging.
However, during logging the other day, about 19 hrs into a 72 hr run, sampling / logging stopped and Picolog froze.
I’ve tried re-installing Picolog on the same PC and get either the following balloon message on the tool bar pop-up….
USB device not recognised
‘One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognise it.
…or if I start Picolog, when getting to the ‘converter details’ window, the 1216 is either not recognised or Picolog freezes during the ‘USB enumeration’ sequence.
I’ve tried two PC’s both running Win XP with latest Picolog version. I have the 1.0.3.0 version of pl1000.dll installed and I have gone through the ‘Firmware update’ procedure with no luck.
