PicoScope-6 Demo Software

Post by Puerlin »

I have recently updated my Mac OS to Big Sur and I am trying to download your PicoScope-6 software to see it demonstrate your modules. However it says it cannot be opened because "Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact developer for more information"

Hi Puerlin,

Unfortunately, our current version of PicoScope software requires separate development for each revision of the non-windows platform versions. Because it uses valuable resource, it is only done periodically. this means that in order to run the latest revision of PicoScope 6 on the Mac you will need to either roll-back to 10.15.5 Catalina, or run out of a windows or Catalina based machine, or virtual machine (e.g. using Parallels or Fusion).

We are currently working on getting out a PicoScope version that allows cross platform development to avoid issues like this, but it is still currently under development.

Regards,

Gerry, Is there an ETA for the Big Sur compatible software? It has been out for a long time now...
