Connecting a pressure transmitter to Picolog1012

Post by HBlackwood »

Hi, I've connected a Tecsis Pressure transmitter (P3276B089601) to a Picolog 1012. Transmitter supply is on channel 1 and Press O/P is on channel 2 (and the GND is also connected). I have added a 9.2 k resistor to R1 and a 0.8k resistor to R2. My problem is that the signal is low (about 1mV) and doesn't change with the pressure. I've also tried connecting the pressure transmitter without the resistors but it's not any different. What am I doing wrong?
thanks

Hi HBlackwood,

You need to connect the Pressure Transducer to just one channel, as shown in the diagram below, from the specifications here: https://www.oem.ee/products/sensor-,-a- ... er-_-53548. In the diagram the item on the left at the top is the power supply, the item at the left on the bottom is the single channel inputs of the PicoLog 1012, and the item on the right is the Transducer. The 3 items are connected in a 4-20mA current loop, so the +ve Excitation supply goes to the +ve of the transducer, the -ve of the Transducer goes to the +ve of the input channel for the PicoLog 1012, the Gnd of the same input channel of the PicoLog 1012 then goes back to the -ve of the Excitation supply. A 120Ω resistor then goes across the +ve and Gnd single input of the PicoLog 1012.
