Decoding SENT-Protocol with 2204

Post by Haegar333 »

I have a 2204 A USB Oscilloscop and want to decode a Fast and Slow SENT Signal.

I managed to decode the Fast Ring, getting almost 95% reliable Messages in the decode table.

But the Slow Ring is a problem. I was opening up the time frame to get enough messages to have a full Slow Message, but i only get a low number of messages decoded. Most of the messages have a CRC Fault.

Is the 2204 A good enough to cope with the Slow Messages?

Hi Haegar333,

The PicoScope 2204A only has an 8kS hardware buffer for capturing samples, so the number of SENT messages that you can capture will be limited. If you're using a Timbebase that is too slow (because you're trying to squeeze more data into the same amount of memory) then you run the risk of using a sample rate that is too slow to capture the data bits with a high enough signal integrity to be decoded.

If this is the case then you will need to upgrade to a Picoscope with a large enough memory to capture the number messages that you need.

If this is not the case, and there is some other cause of the problems, if you post your psdata file here we will be able to have a look at what the issue may be.
