Picolog 6 and forcing scale of input data

I don't see an easy way to force an input from millivolts to volts? Is that an easy thing to do? I have two channels one recording battery voltage, and the second recording the output of a tmp36 temperature sensor. The battery voltage is coming back perfect in volts. But the data being recorded for the sensor is in millivolts. Can it be forced to "volts"?

Hi Mab,

If the temperature sensor data is only at the millivolt level then using millivolts as a scale would display the data in the best resolution, so that you can see more detail than what would be displayed using a scale of volts. So, could you explain why you are asking the question so that I can help you better.

I spent 1/2 hour writing a reply last night, and then my laptop decided it didn't want to connect to the internet anymore. Lost it all. enough complaining.

In reply to why I would like to be able to display in Volts rather than mVolts. Choice. I think that says enough.

I guess what I am really looking to do is better represent my data on the graph. Right now I have 2 pieces of data. 1 - Battery Volts i.e. 12.6 volts, and 2 - a mVolt representation of ambient Temperature. When I display the graph I have battery voltage at the top of the screen, and Temperature represented in mV at the bottom of the screen. Neither piece of data ends up well represented. What I would like to do is something like setting Min. and Max. readings for each that would allow me to use the whole screen to represent both of them at the same time. What I currently am doing is stopping the display for one of them so that I can see the other, and then visa-versa. Those min. and Max. settings would create a best scale and use as much of the screen as possible when displaying data. Also allowing me to see both of them well. They currently seem to be on the same scale. Is that something I can do?

I printed out a copy of the User guide for Picolog. Very much an overview. I was hoping for information on things like equations, etc,. Is there more than the user guide?

I hear ya, regarding the rage against the machine thing. Some time ago, we used to have a ticketing system that took pleasure in logging you out after hours of researching and hand crafting an answer. Since then I tend to write anything of value and length in tools with recoverable data before pasting it where it needs to go (never know when the update gremlins will strike).

You can add a second graph to get the optimum scaling for your data logging of both items at the same time during logging (as mentioned under "View data in Graph view" here: https://www.picotech.com/library/data-l ... r-software). You can do this by going to settings (click the double arrow head in the top right hand corner of the display if you don't have settings open) and in the 'Channels and Axes' tab, click to open the drop down options, select '2' under Y axes, and then drag your channel (Temperature or Battery voltage) to underneath the second Axis.

By 'User Guide' I assume that you mean the information from the 'Help & support' Tab. Unfortunately, we don't have an available User Guide yet.
